Are You Being Paid Fairly?
Research your salary, get the best prices, and quit these habits
Hey,
How are we half way through November? Where has the year gone? 😅
Action Step: Research Your Salary
When was the last time you revisited the market rate for your position? Whether you’re working full-time or self-employed, it’s important to revisit your salary/rate often to ensure you’re not getting shafted.
For full-timers: Grab this free market research guide to help you figure out how much you should be making in your field. You can also use Indeed’s Salary Estimator to give you a rough idea of a fair salary.
For self-employed folks: Look at other businesses in your niche. What are they charging?
If you’re freelance, check out these rate databased to see what others are charging:
If you haven’t already, follow Salary Transparent Street on TikTok. They interview people all over the country about what they do and how much they make. It’s a great way to get real information on salaries within your industry.
Quote
Hating work is so normalized, especially in America. But what if you didn’t have to hate work?
I currently have my dream career, and this was the framework I used to find it:
What kind of lifestyle do I want to live?
How much do I want to make?
What are my interests?
What careers align with my interests, expected pay, and ideal lifestyle?
This quote comes from the book The Pathless Path. It’s a great read if you’re feeling confused on your career trajectory.
Tool: Honey Droplist
If you’re furnishing a new place or looking to upgrade what you have, this one’s for you. I’m in the process of moving and have been adding items I want to buy onto my Honey Droplist.
Once you add it to your droplist, Honey will alert you if there’s a price change. That way, you’ll be able to buy it at the best price.

Answer: Know that there’s only so much you can control. As simple as it sounds, sitting in frustration and complaining about the state of the economy isn’t going to help.
What IS in your control? What CAN you do to make smarter financial decisions amidst a time where rent is crazy high and groceries seem wildly priced?
Focus on those things.
See ya on Tuesday,
